I’m currently a 4th year student at the University of Edinburgh studying Physical Education and I have my level 2 fitness instructor qualification (since 2018). Health & fitness is a huge passion of mine and I make sure to incorporate exercise and training into my daily routine. I really rely on exercise for the benefits I gain both physically and mentally! My Hiit & Strength classes will be suitable for all abilities & I can’t wait to motivate you all over the coming months.
I’m a level 3 personal trainer, I specialise in strength and endurance training with a military focus. I was lucky enough to row around the UK this summer! This gave me a lot of experience in training myself and the team to complete the challenging expedition. I’ve found physical training to be an essential cornerstone in improving my own mental health and I want to share this with others.
I’m 21 and live in Edinburgh as a student. I first discovered yoga in my early teens as a means of recovery from running. I was a competitive athlete at this time, but I quickly realised that yoga was so much more than just a physically beneficial practice- it also has a massively positive impact on my mental health and overall personal life. I completed my 200 hour RYT over lockdown and have been teaching pretty much every day since! I am trained in Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin and Restorative Yoga. I am so excited to work with Bound to further spread the message surrounding the intrinsic link between physical & mental health!
I’m currently studying health in social science at the University of Edinburgh, and I completed my level 2 & 3 personal training qualifications in lockdown. It was something I’d been thinking about doing for a while because as a captain in the lacrosse club I often led training sessions and really enjoyed it! Exercise has always been in my life, and my main motivation to move my body is for my mind, as I find that it really helps me manage my anxiety. I want to help people move away from the ‘diet culture’ mindset of exercising to change our bodies, and instead view exercise as something that we do to have fun and make us feel good! That’s why I am so excited to work with Bound to change ideas about exercise and really promote it for its mental health effects!
My name is AnnaSophia and I am a fourth year Graphic Design Student at Edinburgh College of Art within the University of Edinburgh. I reached out to help BoundFitness with their graphics, because I appreciate their stance on mental health as I have first-hand experience of mental health affecting my physical health. Comparing myself to others and fear of failure stopped me from working out and I became overweight. Once I managed to focus on working out for myself and making it enjoyable, I lost 30 lbs in about half a year which made working out even more fun! Now I am excited to help BoundFitness grow and spread this mentality throughout Edinburgh and beyond.
